The Madoff Effect on food advocacy
I've continued to look up links to post, this time going through the materials that I gathered at the recent FamilyFarmed Expo in Chicago.
I was going to include The Fair Food Foundation, but its operations have ended because its major investors were bilked by Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme.
"Due to the loss of funding, Fair Food Foundation is no longer in a position to consider any requests for funding. We will be spending the next few weeks closing down our operation. Thank you for your interest in the Foundation and its mission to work with historically excluded urban communities to design a food system that upholds the fundamental right to healthy, fresh and sustainably-grown food."
That's unfortunate.
