Sidebar and shopping updates

To the right, I have added several links to local and global resources. There are several more on the way, one of which is a how-to guide for growing, harvesting and preparing herbs. The page has been in one of my other blog's links for years, and it's quite thorough.

However, I only just noticed that there's a little section about drying herbs in a microwave. Do not do that. That will destroy or distort the energetic and botanical compounds that the plant has to offer. It's like microwaving tea in a cup of water: you'll destroy what was going to benefit you (and it doesn't taste good).

I took the car out to The Home Depot in the evening to get some terracotta containers for the Datura that are growing across the room. Spent an hour walking around and checking prices on materials that I plan to use for the BH service. I was pleased to see that the Depot carries organic vegetable seed from Burpee and Ferry-Morse. I've bought seed almost exclusively from Seeds of Change and Seed Savers in the last couple of years, but I bought some of the root vegetable packets at the Depot because they were so inexpensive, and it'll show that there are people who will buy them out here in the far western borderlands.
