$100 to eat wild leek?!

In the previous post about ramp (a.k.a. wild leek), I mentioned that this pungent cousin of garlic and onion has gained favor with celebrichefs.

Here's proof of that culinary status: RampFest at the Garfield Park Conservatory (Chicago), with a $90 to $125 entry fee.

Whaaaat...?

Oh, I see: it's a fundraiser for The Land Connection, a farming and food-system development organization. That sounds worthwhile (though still a bit steep, ne?).
